Drone – Fun, Utility or Threat (Anti-drone Jammer)

A drone became a popular adult toy. Before a drone, RC(remote control) helicopter or a plane are an adult toy but they are usually very hard to control. Modern drones come with a feature where an user can program it using a GPS to fly it from point A to B without having to control it at all. Or by attaching a smart phone, one can easily control it via seeing the video from a drone’s point of view.

Drones = Fun as a toy

.

.

I am pretty certain that men never grow old. Whenever I see drone flying or airbonre video clip from a drone, I get very excited. In this regard, drones definitely serve as a fun tool.

.

I saw a news that Amazon started testing drone delivery system. Like the old science movie, soon we might expect a world where a delivery is done by a utility drone. In this way drones not only serve as a source of pleasure but also it will serve as a utility in the near future. (I hear that in industrial areas, utility drones are already deployed and used daily basis.)

Drones are either a source of fun or utility tools, why do we need a anti-drone technologies? (check out anti-drone technologies at this link : https://roaringengine.com/2018/03/15/counter-drone-technology-drone-jammer-from-ba-solutions/)

Unfortunately, where there is light, there is also darkness. Terrorists started turning toy drones into a big threat. They attach bombs or biochemical weapons along with a phone that will trigger it to blow off. In order to stop this, we need anti-drone technologies such as a drone jammer.

.

One might think, it would be easier to shoot illegal drones down, but then bombs will be blown off as well. So one might need to take it down safely without having to blow it off. Some people say, what about throwing a net to catch it and move it to a safe zone. This is definitely a solution unless drones are very hard to catch when they are flying. Smaller drones are even harder.

.

Did you know that even drone pilots find it hard to control small drones under windy situation? Small drones are not stable when it’s flying against wind. So throwing a net to catch it would be very challenging. This is why one needs a drone jammer. With a drone jammer, you could jam either or both control signal and GPS signals depending on your missions. When you jam GPS signals, typically drones will hover (freeze), then it’s easier to catch it with a net or whatever tools available.

Drones = Threat?

.

Yes, drones can be threats. Not only it can be threat by terrorists but also it can be threats by someone innocent who didn’t know it can be a threat. Imagine a normal person who recently purchased a drone never thought it could be a threat to airport facility if one flies it near the airport facility. In this case, Jamming both GPS and control signals to force it to land as soon as possible might be the best solution for airport security.
