One day road trip to east coast of South Korea with a fun diesel car

Summer vacation! I am sure everyone is looking forward to a vacation no matter what they do. We had an exceptionally hot summer in Korea. What comes to your mind when the weather is hot? Yes, just like you most people would plan for going to a water place. The question is sea water or fresh water.

Luckily we have a place where you can enjoy both in one day. It’s in the east coast of South Korea. Both sea water and fresh water at high mountains are very cool unlike hot weather, therefore east coast sea area is very popular place for most people for spending a vacation. It’s even popular in the winter as there are a few famous places for skiing.

Now as you can imagine, there are a few problems with going to a hot place. First off, finding a decent hotel at reasonable price is very challenging. Secondly even if you find one, normally you end up very crowded places. Since I’ve been there and done it myself, I hate to repeat it again which is a guaranteed vacation spoiler.

One day road trip!

Early birds catch more flies apply in this “one day road trip” plan. Hit the road at 6:30 am, then you can avoid heavy traffic jam (did I mention that you will expect terrible traffic jam during summer vacation toward the east coast?). Since it takes about 2:30 hours from my home. I didn’t have to stop at the resting area.

At 9:00 am, arrive at Terrarosa Cafe & Restaurant. They serve both awesome coffee as well as food. I like this place the more because they grow food ingredients on their own organically. Since they put a lot of efforts into serving one meal, it’s no surprise you get the best meal experience at Terrarosa restaurant.

Make sure to eat more than usual for a breakfast as you will need to eat late lunch to avoid crowded restaurant. Next stop is to enjoy beautiful sea. People tend to visit famous beach but I’d rather try less popular place (small beach); yet you can enjoy the same awesome sea! Sea water which is from way up north is very cool. What a great vacation.

I like the highway from my home to East Sea where I need to go through high mountains with winding roads. Not only the road has beautiful scenery but also I like it because I could feel the power of my car. When I speed up toward the uphill, I could feel the roaring diesel engine power from the tip of the accelerator. When I drove a gasoline car a long time ago, I had to use high RPM to accelerate in the uphill area, but with BMW 420 D Gran Coupe, speeding up in the uphill is almost effortless.

I know noting about mechanics of diesel car vs gasoline car. But one thing is for sure. When you take good care of the diesel car, you get awesome mileage and you could enjoy fun driving at the same time (whether it is uphill or straight road, you could maneuver however you like effortless.) With diesel car, your enemy is “Carbon Sludge”. Usually when you accelerate abruptly with a diesel car, carbon sludge components are building in the intake manifold area. Unfortunately this happens to all diesel car no matter how expensive your car is.

Traditionally the only way to remove carbon sludge in the intake manifold is to clean is manually (by dissembling engine parts), of course, this takes time and the moment you clean it all, carbon sludge will start to building again. However, good news is we introduced a product D Clean which clean it at all times. If you are interested in this, you could read more details at this link.

On the way back from east coast trip, I dropped by a valley, fresh water place. The cool water from the top of the high mountains blew hot weather away immediately. One day road tip to east coast, too short? Maybe, but awesome memories would last for months.
